Some audiobooks I've listened to lately

Emily and Einstein by Linda Francis Lee
I thought this story was just OK. It was hard for me to sustain disbelief when a young woman's husband dies but gets to continue life as a dog.....this all happens at the beginning so shouldn't be a spoiler. I got a little annoyed at the whole thing, but to each his own:)

Train Dreams by Denis Johnson

From Amazon.com: "Denis Johnson’s Train Dreams is an epic in miniature, one of his most evocative and poignant fictions.

Robert Grainer is a day laborer in the American West at the start of the twentieth century—an ordinary man in extraordinary times. Buffeted by the loss of his family, Grainer struggles to make sense of this strange new world. As his story unfolds, we witness both his shocking personal defeats and the radical changes that transform America in his lifetime."

I was moved by this novella. It was very different from other books I've read...raw and rough but affecting at the same time. I would recommend listening to this one as well--the narrator had just the sort of voice that seemed to go along with the story.
