Finding yourself while walking the trails

If you've ever taken a walk to clear your head or blow off some steam, have you thought about taking it to the next level? People embark on foot on various hiking and wilderness trails in the USA and worldwide to do just that.  The trails they choose can range from under a hundred miles to more than a thousand or two. Other reasons people go to such extremes might be to make a religious pilgrimage or to fulfill a lifelong dream. Regardless of the motivation, this type of journey inevitably brings surprises, especially in the form of self-knowledge.

Below are several items from our collection that describe and explore some of these adventures and adventurers. Take a second to browse through them and see if one appeals to your "wild" side!
